Are you insinuating that deporting a record number of immigrants, specifically Mexicans, is a good thing? Last time I checked we are all immigrants in this country (with the exception of Native Americans).

Most Mexicans who migrate to America do so to escape violent drug cartels which have killed 60,000 civilians since 2006. That is 7,500 killed every year or 20.5 every day.

By the end of 2012 Obama will have deported more immigrants during his term than Bush’s 8-year term. In 2011, Obama deported nearly 400,000 immigrants, a new record, 80% of which were Hispanic. By deporting these immigrants he is putting their lives as risk not to mention he is also separating families.

I think you misread the last sentence. Mmkatlady said we have to work harder than white folks and/or our oppressors to eradicate white privilege. That doesn’t include protesting or committing civil disobedience which is how I encourage racial minorities to combat the white privilege.

I was just reading an article about Chicago taking away their nurses permit to protest the Friday before the summits. The City wants to move the protest to Grant Park because they believe it would be larger than expected, considering Tom Morello will be playing during the event.

The largest protests will be the 2-day (May 20-21) anti-war protest organized by Coalition Against NATO/G8 War & Poverty Agenda which, ironically, will likely have a large anarchist presence and is expected to get ‘violent’.

I honestly don’t know why people don’t care. It could be because not enough people know or because it has become the norm. The NDAA, NDRP, ACTA and CISPA didn’t caused any major backlash in America. Why would this be any different? SOPA was an exception, people don’t care unless it becomes a trend.
